2025 - The Story So Far...

Writer's picture: Ben CoombsBen Coombs

It's still July in the good year '24, so it may seem a little pre-emptive to be talking about next year already. However it pays to be organised, so we're already thinking ahead to the awesomeness with which we intend to fill the coming year.

We've already released the details of the first few trips we'll be running; namely the Eagle Rally, Beer Italia and Snowstorm Rally. Here's a quick run-through of how things are looking with those events so far, along with a few more dates for your diary - namely the French Revolution, and - drumroll - our new big trip - the Trafalgar Tour...

So, in chronological order, here's how our 2025 events are looking so far:

01st to 16th March - The Snowstorm Rally

This is our all-new, thinking-outside-the-box trip up to the Arctic winter, in search of the northern lights, about which you can read more here. Since we announced the event a week ago, we've had five firm expressions of interest, split between people who will be buying a budget Saab or Volvo in which to complete the drive, and folk who will be taking an existing vehicle, such as their daily driver, as well as a fair few other interested parties, who we hope will put their names down soon. So, with over seven months to go before the off, it's looking very likely that we'll be able to get a decent-sized group together to make this one happen, so it looks like we'll be getting 2025 off to a good start...

31st May to 09th June -the French Revolution

Yep, you read it here first - next year's French Revolution will be taking place over the first week of June next year. In our humble opinion, this is the best pure driving trip we do, thanks to such big tarmac hitters as the Route Napoleon, Mont Ventoux, the Gorge du Tarn and the Massif Central. We'll be releasing the full details of next year's event soon, but we don't anticipate much change from the 2024 event, which you can read about here. Want to get your name down for an early place on next year's trip? Simple, just get in touch...

28th June to 06th July - The Beer Italia

This one needs no introduction. We announced the dates for the forth annual running of the Beer Italia two weeks ago, and at the time of writing, it's just under half full, so just like this year's event, it promises to be a bumper thrill ride of epic proportions. Pop the dates in your diary and get in touch if you're interested in being part of it. Details of this year's trip, which happened a few weeks ago, can be found here.

13th to 22nd September - The Eagle Rally

The 2025 running of our flagship event looks set to be our biggest trip yet to the Eagle's Nest. The 2024 Eagle Rally hasn't even happened yet, but already the 2025 trip is comfortably over half full - thanks to everyone who's signed up for this, and for our other '25 events - so far. We're going to be keeping an eye on how things go with the remaining places and, if the demand is there, we'll consider running a second Eagle Rally earlier in the year. So, if you're tempted by the Eagle Rally next year, let us know, and we'll make a decision on a possible second event soon.

11th to 26th October (provisional) - The Trafalgar Tour

Drumroll... here it is! Going by the working title of 'The Spanish Carmarda', our brand new grand tour for 2025 will see us heading down to Cape Trafalgar, to mark the anniversary of Nelson's finest moment - the Battle of Trafalgar. To do this, we'll be taking the ferry from next to Nelson's flagship - HMS Victory - to northern Spain, where we'll be embarking on a next level road trip around the coasts of Spain and Portugal, to Trafalgar, which is near Gibraltar, way down south. On the way, you'll have all the attention to detail you've come to expect from a Pub2Pub tour, when it comes to things to see, and roads to drive. From the taverns of Cadiz to the buzz of Lisbon; from the soaring tarmac of the Picos de Europa to possibly the biggest waves on earth, off the Portuguese coast, we'll be pulling out all the stops for the drive to Trafalgar. And from there, we'll be returning north across Spain's interior on endless excellent tarmac, via such wonders as Ronda, the Alhambra and the rock of Gibraltar.

With this trip still being 15 months away, we're still working on the plan, but we wanted to let you know the rough details so you can plan around it if it appeals. If it does, let us know, and you'll be the first to have your name on the list, and hear all the info on the trip...

So, that's five trips for '25. There will be a few more additions to the calendar, however. Provided this year's Brittany Steers goes down well, we'll be looking to expand our range of more relaxed tours in northern France next year, and as mentioned earlier, there's the possibility of an early summer Eagle Rally too, if the interest is there. There's also a possible re-run of Mountains and Machines to be decided upon, but we're going to see how demand for our other grand tours goes before making a decision on that one - if we don't run it in '25, rest assured it'll be back for 2026....

And if any of the above sounds like a trip you'd like to be involved in, you know what to do - get in touch via ben@pub2pubadventures.com and we'll pencil you in for a place.
