The Normandy Classic
What’s better than one chilled out cruise around northern France? Two, that’s what.

In 2024, we launched the Brittany Steers, and in doing so, dipped our first toe in the waters of slower-paced driving tours for the first time. And it was a great trip right out of the box, a relaxing holiday to be shared with whatever car you happen to take along. So, as two trips are better than one, we’ve added a Normandy version to the itinerary for ’25, and we’d love it if you could be part of the inaugural running.

Just like its sister trip – the Brittany Steers – the Normandy Classic is a relaxing drive around northern France, averaging less than 100 miles each day, and hence allowing plenty of time to slow down and savour your time on the trip. It’s open to any classic or enthusiast cars, from Austin 7s to AC Cobras; classic Minis to MX-5s; Renault 4s to Rolls-Royce Silver Shadows. In fact, if you have a Silver Shadow, definitely bring it along; that’d be awesome.

The Normandy Classic will be leaving the UK on Saturday 10th May, and returning a week later, on Saturday 17th. And in-between those two dates, it will be winding its cunning way around Normandy, taking in all this part of France is famous for, and some things which it isn’t. You’ll have the chance to take in the spectacular chalk cliffs of Etretat and the cheese-strewn lanes of Camembert. There’s France’s appealingly named ‘route d’cidre’ and Rouen’s time-warp old town. There are grand chateaus, medieval castles, bucolic countryside and enticing cafes. There’s the Bayeux tapestry, and the D-Day beaches. And there’ll be croissants too; croissants by the dozen. You can read a little more about some of the places we'll be dropping into by following the link here.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

So, what’s the price for all this pain aux chocolat-fuelled decadence? A perfectly reasonable £1,425. This includes the channel crossings (provisionally Poole-Cherbourg outbound, St-Malo to Portsmouth return), all hotels, a buffet breakfast every morning, the full itinerary, and on-the-road support from Pub2Pub’s support car, which will be coming along loaded with tools and spare parts, to assist if you have any on-the-road issues. You'll also get the loan of a two-way radio to chat to your companions while on the road, full Google navigation instructions, a trip sticker pack and, of course, the camaraderie and future friends which are a standard part of every Pub2Pub trip. We throw that bit in for free, in fact.

If you’ll already be on the continent, and you’d like to join the fun without the channel crossings, you’re welcome too – the more the merrier, and you’ll get to take £200 off the entry price as well.

So, if you’re tempted by a chilled-out eight day tour of Normandy, drop us an email at ben@pub2pubadventures.com, and we’ll reserve you a place on the trip.
